According to this article 1 tonne (909 kgs) of recycled paper will save 1,682kg of timber, 90,849 kgs of water, will use 64% less energy and 50% less water to produce. Not a recent article but still one that is very relevant. The Department of Labour found that many commercial cleaners were requiring employees to take home and wash cleaning cloths. This practice is hazardous to their health as well as not eliminating bacteria and virus' from the cloths.Posted: Monday 15 February 2010

The H1N1 pandemic is no longer discussed in our daily newspapers. A study was done and published by Eurosurveillance on whether the use of hand sanitisers has dropped in hospital foyers as a result of a decrease in media coverage. This interesting article shows a decrease from 18% to 8.2% of people using a hand santitiser as they entered a New Zealand hospital.Posted: Tuesday 2 February 2010

TVNZ ran a news story on prisoners drinking alcohol based sanitisers. Because alcohol sanitisers contain a minimum of 62% alcohol the prisoners have been adding a couple of squirts into cordial and drinking it. Attached is an article and video clip.
